Course details...

Almost identical to 2002 plus some freshly cut single track! And the Flower Trail is in...

around 14 miles, rolling, no major climbing, fun & fast single and double track... Fast lap times last year were about 1 hour for 14 miles.... See the course information below for detailed directions based on last year's course.

 


The 2003 24 Hours of 9 Mile Course was be a combination of the course from the previous four years and very similar to the 2002 course. The length was approximately 14 miles and included a mix of singletrack and open ski trail for a fast and relatively flat course. Lap times for the fastest riders should be near the 1 hour mark.


After the LeMans style start, the course will follow the following route:
-Leave the chalet via trail Q (last year's finish, finish of the 20k ski loop)
-Follow Q to a section of snowmobile trail
- Duck into some single track, then back onto trail Q
***If needed, Check point Charlie is near this point just south (straight) on trail V, between trail Y and W ***
- Right on snowmobile trail
***Take the Flower Trailand follow it to the snowmobile trail to bottom of hill.
- left again onto the snowmobile trail all the way to the Four Corners/National MTB patrol Check point
*** Check point 2 is at the next trail intersection of the snowmobile trail and trail I (Four Corners)***
-right onto Trail 8 Ho Chi Minh
*** we will use trail in wet conditions instead of Ho Chi Minh, ***
-Out of Ho chi minh to Trail F
- right on Trail B
- follow B to Trail 14
--oout of trail 14 to the Red Bud Road check point and across red bud road onto trail C
***The Red Bud Road Check point is at the intersection of Trail C and Red Bud Road***
- right onto ST #3
- half way through ST #3 go straight until you hook up with ST #2
- Right on Trail C
-Left on the second Trail #1
- Left on Snow mobile trail
-Left onto trail #1 Follow course to trail #3
- right on ST #3 (Watch out for the rocks on this one...)
- Right on Trail C Across Red Bud Road Check Point
*** Red Bud Road Check Point is at the intersection of Trail C and Red Bud Road***
- Right on Trail R
- Left into second singletrack opening (ST trail #4)
- Straight onto ST #5
- Left Onto trail M
- Right Onto Trail W
-Right At Trail V
***Check Point Charlie is along this stretch***
- Right onto trail Y
- Follow while until it turns into M back parallel to the start
- turn right on Trail X
- Right onto single track back out to trail X
- Right on Trail X
-Left on Trail E ("Main Street")
- Left to Chalet.


Do the whole thing twenty more times and call it a day!
